Hello, my name is Shoto Todoroki and I'd like to cook a few things and learn a few recipes.
I don't have much in the way of recipes to share, but if anyone knows anything other than pie with apples, I'd like those and am willing to make fair trades for the information. Any leads on where I can get those ingredients as well, synthetic would be fine, or substitutes would be fine. I'm still learning and I think I'm bound to make a mistake or two until I learn better. That's why I'm alright with synthetics for now.
I guess any recipes or tips on cooking would be welcome. My best friend Bakugo has tried to teach me, so I have some good basics to fall back on.
Thank you.
[Too late someone said Bakugo was his best friend and now Bakugo is his best friend.]

@Destiny
Bakugo's such a good kid, isn't he?
If you need lessons in cooking, I'd be happy to help. Though my methods might be a bit... old-school. Do you like quail and vinegar?
no subject
Is he a good kid though? He's run into more people that know him than don't so that's not a surprise.]
Bakugo is a very nice person.
[The head tilt isn't visible, obviously but there is one.]
Together or separately? If either I've never had it. I'm guessing you mean quail as the food and not as a pet. I haven't had it as a pet either.
no subject
As someone who's scolding Yato (and everyone else) near constantly, Bakugo must be the kind of kid who looks out for others. Or that's how he sees it anyway.]
Yeah! A bit temperamental, but still.
Together! Gazechi-ae involves taking a quail or other small bird and basting it in soy sauce before frying them up and dressing with vinegar. Though I guess it'd be a bit mean to cook a pet, even if you COULD.

He means well, even if he sometimes says it a little harshly. Bakugo looks out for all of us back home in his own way. He's encouraging and wants us to do the best for ourselves, too.
Oh. Yes let's not cook a pet. I'm sure we could find something? I would like to learn this. It sounds good. It sounds a little complicated, but you could show me, right?"

@kuzunoha14
I'm in the kitchen often. I like to try baking myself when I have the time, and Bakugo has been a great help to me, too. I'd be more than glad to impart what I've learned.
I work a few nights a week at the Hanabi izakaya as a cook as well. I'm often trying to improve on my ramen recipes, and will be in the kitchen here testing them out. If you're interested in learning that, I'm also glad to share, so long as you can help give me honest feedback with some taste testing.

That sounds like Bakugo, being helpful.
[He recognizes the user name at least, which means he's seen the picture and does have vague memories of being too recluse himself not to have met very many people. That changes now.]
I'd appreciate it if you don't mind my watching you when you're in the common kitchen? I'd be happy to do whatever I could to repay the kindness. Even if you have lists of what you need from what store, I'll go get it. That's no problem.
[Being an errand boy is the least he can do for the help of the selfless people around him reaching out to give their best.]

Sometimes I do go looking for more cooking equipment as well, in the junk shops and second-hand stores. I was planning on going with Bakugo sometime soon, and you're more than welcome to join as well.
no subject
I'd like that. Bakugo is always fun to be with, and a new friend is also nice. I'll also make sure to look out for anything that looks like cookware. I'm lucky that I can do basics without things like that. Are there any sorts you're missing?

so maybe start with trying to learn how to make curry. it's super easy!
[ a pause. ]
i could share a recipe, but i feel you'd learn better if i show you instead.

Curry. That's an excellent idea.
I'd like that, if you wouldn't mind. I learn better from watching.

@bustermove
[Absolutely terrible joke, he can fully guess which one Todoroki actually is based on his username.]
I'm pretty basic when it comes to cooking, but my buddy Yzak is real keen on it. I bet he can give you some pointers.
[And he's probably just about as patient a teacher as Bakugo is!]
no subject
[Did he also mention that Shoto is about as bright as either of those three are strong?]
I haven't spoken with them yet, that I know at least. But I'm thankful for any pointers or tips, or demonstrations to learn from as well. What kind of basics do you know? Sometimes even learning from alternate views on what basic means can be helpful in more than cooking, too.
no subject
Sure. Probably not a lot I can tell you that others haven't already though... I can make a basic soup, I can make noodles, I can pan fry stuff... You know. That sort of thing. Back home I rarely had the time to get any fancier than that.
[Although he DOES have time between kaiju fights now... So maybe he should get on brushing up his own skills.]
no subject
Would you be willing to teach me how you make your soups? I don't think I've ever tried that before.
[A good reason to get out and try!]

i learned how to fry tofu from him. i can impart that much if you wish.
no subject
He is. A very caring person in his own way. I take it you're a friend of his, too?
I'd like that. Anything like that is exactly what I'm looking for. Do you have a name you prefer to be called, or just your user name?
no subject
call me choso. i can find you some tofu easily. if there is oil and spicy things around, it is easy to do.

... apparently not. Ugh, this loose-mouthed bastard.]
You could've just asked for lessons, you damn Half-n-Half bastard.
Sorrynotsorry also will get to the chonky one after work!
Please can you continue to teach me too and anything I learn from anyone else, I'll give to you in return.
[Done and done.]
Oh. Bakugo. There's an item I'd like to make for Choso, I believe he is a friend of yours. I told him I would hand make him some s'mores and I'd like to use Deez Nuts for a surprise in them as well. Are you familiar with them?
chonky~
Fine! And I'm not "trying" to teach you! I AM teaching you!
[Don't talk down to his success!]
Odango Mess? What does he want?

[Yeah, he is going to be that bitch who says the quiet part out loud, mostly because the idea of Bakugou possibly fuming in embarrassment over someone talking about being his best friend is kind of amusing to imagine.]
Sorry about the wait! Work/RL Got me!
[Shoto isn't sure who all counts as Bakugo's best friend(s) but he sure knows that he really enjoys the other teen's company. Loud as it is sometimes.]
it's all good!
Yeah, he is a good guy I guess. Even if he is as prickly as a cactus.
