so i was thinking

[ A dangerous thing, for Yuji Itadori. ]

a lot of us have really cool powers, and i don't know how many of us have tried to put them together to help fight against the kaiju better.

like i can manipulate blood, and i can make it explode, so if other people had exploding powers, or could shoot really well, we could try and tag team?

i can teleport and heal, too, and i'm good at punching, so couldn't we do something with all our powers combined?

kind of like in an anime or something... a big kamahameha???

what do you think?

I consume them.

I used to tell myself the very same thing you do. That it was worth it, if it helped people. That I didn't mind that it was the worst thing I'd ever tasted every single time. I had four thousand of them at one point. Each as vile as the next.

( And it never mattered. It never helped. And then he gave up caring about anything. Funny, that he's afraid he might start again. )

sukuna is evil. he's the worst thing i've ever seen in my life. and i'd eat four thousand of his fingers to save the people i care about most

i'd eat anything to save them, and i have. nothing's gonna change that. so i get it, geto-san. i do.

( He thinks of the taste, and of the fear. He thinks of Haibara lain out on a table, and of two little girls in a cage. He thinks of Itadori Yuji's tired face every time they meet. It's all so exhausting. )

I don't think I'll ever sacrifice myself for strangers ever again.

( He still hates them, that's not going to change. But that doesn't mean he has to forget everything else. )

But I understand. I'd do the same for my family. And I truly do care about our people, despite what they might think. I wanted them safe.

[ Yuji is much the same. He thinks of Junpei, of Nanami, of Kugisaki, of Higuruma, of Gojo - and he knows. He understands. He's so tired, but... He can't give up.
