[ well, that's quite the mental update. while ishmael isn't reeling from the download's sappy effects, she is in the mood to yap and gossip -- which is typically unlike her at all. and so, while they're all still waiting for the download to finish, she's got this to ask on their shared network. ]

Looks like this is going to take a while. And I know that most of us here were haunted by certain dreams a while back, me included. It's something I've already gone through back home so I'm not too bothered with it now, but I'm going to go ahead and ask anyway.

What are some of your happier memories?

That's probably easier said than done, though. You don't even have to think too far back and just share whatever made you happy since coming here. It's corny, sure, but we could definitely need some cheering up after all that on top of this horribly hot weather.

Of course, if you're too shy to share them to everyone in the class, I get it. I know I am. You can just tell me privately if you trust me that much, or you don't have to say anything at all and just read or react to everyone's contributions instead. Also if anyone's gonna come here to say shit like "Oh I'm not gonna share anything :/" then do us all a favor and not waste our time. Thanks. 👍

[ ish is too embarrassed to share hers right now, if anyone's wondering 🧍‍♂️ of course, feel free to threadjack if needed. happy yapping!! ]

shenanigans. supernatural shenanigans.

[ oh, take pity. look, it’s a robot man, he has likely known nothing but technology all his poor life. ]

i was conceived 150 years before i was incarnated into a living body, if that helps.

It helps.

Marginally.

I'm not from a place that's intensely familiar with "supernatural shenanigans," as you put it.

What happened during that 150 years? Were you some kind of soul trapped or growing somewhere?

you're close. very nice.

i was a fetus transfigured into a cursed object. much of that time was spent in what i now know as high security storage.

so no, not a robot.

what part are you having trouble with? i can make a chart if it helps. technology-inclined people seem to like charts.

It's not that I'm having trouble with it!

It's just, really fucked up sounding!

Is that legal? where you're from?

i believe it is actually absurdly illegal on several levels of government.

i take it you had a more standard point of origin, congratulations.

Essentially, yes. My people are genetically enhanced, but as a second generation Coordinator, I did not require any enhancements before I was born.

Why was something like your creation done? If you don't mind answering that.

what about after you were born?

and i don’t mind. we were essentially science experiments as far as i can tell. i haven’t found any evidence that says otherwise.
coordination: (Good evening ladies. the wait is over.)

[personal profile] coordination 2024-07-15 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
We don't need them after, either. We inherit those enhanced genes from our parents.

Science experiments ... for what? War? Advancement? There's usually some driving force behind it, whether it's good or bad.

i see. the perfect genetic hand-me-downs.

and none of the above. intellectual curiosity seemed to be our father’s driving force.
coordination: (sorry to disappoint you ladies)

Hopefully it stays that way. But history has taught that's usually never the case. Unfortunately.

But you exist now, either way. Hopefully you don't get shit for it.
