@DEFAULT_NAME, video
( there's a low hum at the start of the transmission, though it's hard to tell whether it's due to electrical interference or if it's from the throat of the creature staring down in the feed.
his arms are folded across his chest, and there's a mildly foreboding look on his face. or maybe that's just his default expression. who knows. )
Apparently, teamwork is a focal point of this "job".
( the memory of a playful, sultry voice and hands clasped over his lingers at the edge of his thoughts. persistent, yet far away.
he pushes it aside for now, to focus on this properly, ears pointed forward almost deliberately. )
I've pored through the documents LILITH provided on these... creatures that invade their world. But what of your opinions of them and their ways? What do you find least effective about our current strategies? How do you find our numbers and their chances thus far? I seek these answers as to understand our enemy better from those who have actually faced them, to focus my efforts more effectively. An initiative that benefits both you and the citizens.
( it's a little self-important, but whatever. it's only the truth. )

What gives you such confidence in them, despite those numbers
Despite the failure

The numbers tell a story of failure, but I know many of these people.
[ composure, dammit. the agony smoothes out into a scowl that could crack walnuts, mouth downturned in an effort to not smile and embarrass this somber little guy so soon. ]
They are strong beyond words, with all the ingenuity to apply their power in the proper ways. Kaiju like the Yamadenki were felled easily. These failures, they are new to us.

So I can see. Humanity is close to scrawling out its last message in the sand, but they haven't just yet.
( whoever shadow's speaking with... he's so tense that it says enough of the struggle. fragmented flashes of things left unspoken. he can check the documents again later.
shadow lets out a gentle snort through his nose, the tuft on his chest rising and falling with the movement. )
Still, stating that more would help goes against your confidence in the firepower you currently have—a clear contradiction.

Life is a series of contradictions that nevertheless paint for us a broader picture of the world. As a whole, we are strong, but our number limits our ability to branch out and meet multiple challenges when they arise; Seoul remains our harshest reminder of this.
[ tuft!! of fur!!! he’s so much fuzzier than sonic!!!!! agh ]
More numbers would also mean more help for the farms. We are always in need.

( assisting the non-combatants... he hadn't considered engaging in that sort of aid just yet. not when the power that rattled in his ribcage is what they needed. him, as a weapon.
he squints his eyes slightly, unable to hold the same bloodshot intensity. )
Why are you staring like that?

[ like he hasn’t found a thousand reasons to fight anyway, like there aren’t a thousand reminders out in the city to stumble on each day.
that little question, though… ]

( teeth, grit. to FIGHT THIS REPLY, )
( 2 / 2 )
who says something like that to someone they've just met?
he isn't, blushing... just. nevermind. forget this line of questioning. he needs a moment to collect himself, eyes focusing elsewhere for the first time. )
You're veering off-topic.

this guy… ]
I was perfectly on-topic; you are the one who asked.

I didn't expect to see so many non-humans here, especially given who we're up against. But I suppose having another weapon is the best way to handle one.

LILITH’s choices are varied at best. Yet every one of them are battle-ready.
[ that word, though; weapon. a tool, an implement of war. is the hedgehog not correct in this? is that not what they are?
for some reason, it sticks like a fishbone in his throat. ]
Are you a fast one, too?
no subject
( a title that resonates so strongly that it'd be cruel not to remember it. )
Which is precisely why I decided to start this feed.

if sonic can be the fastest, surely this one can be the ultimate. ]
The ultimate in what? What are your perimeters?

or no one's asked that he can remember, and his gaze flits away briefly before returning. more for the brief discomfort in being questioned than a lack of confidence. )
The ultimate proof of strength, in range, power, and flexibility. Which is what I assumed LILITH might be lacking, in their bid to seek out my existence.

choso lowers his gaze. ]
Though I may question LILITH’s actions on the regular, I trust in their selection process.
How do you fight?
