@Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight --- [audio]
[In the morning, around 10am, last week of September, a video feed blinks onto the network. Bakugo sits on a couch in front of a window, his reflection looking back at him from the window beyond. Wearing a simple all-black t-shirt and sweats combo like he's usually in, a small white pattern on the side of the shirt.]
Hey.
[Despite his rough voice, he sounds... controlled.]
What happened in Seoul sucked. We all have opinions on each of the results that followed. I'm not here to say who's right or wrong or to shove blame around. I want to talk about how to move forward.
What can we do better? How can we prevent something like Seoul from happening again? I've thought about it and thought about it, but I don't have all the answers. What went wrong, where I messed up... I'm not content with my level right now. The Outsiders are a team. Even if we don't have complete control over our directions, we still support each other. That's what I believe. So I'm asking you.
[Right, time to get on with it.]
On future missions, we shouldn't split up. Even if we have to face two kaiju in the same battle, we're better together. Last time, we were divided and only one half had military backup. I'm not saying to rebel against LILITH, but if a choice comes down to split up or stay together, no one knows us more than us.
[ooc: please note, this isn't to be taken as encouraging a coup to lilith's orders. rather it's an ic discussion about the benefits and detriments of dividing the outsider force during missions, then possibly compromising on future battles.]
We need to take the kaiju down faster. The longer they rampage, the more collateral damage we take. We know their weaknesses, but we're not fast enough. We need a better strategy to take them down. A lot of our powers are strong on their own, but could grow stronger working off each other. Tell me what you can do; if you're not good at strategizing or don't want to, there are Outsiders who can work with that.
[ooc: there have been posts about this in the past, but consider treating this as an avenue for potential team ups or creative combos. if you're not good fighting on the front lines, team up with someone who is while you cover their backs or support from the rear. develop a one-two combination attack with an ally to use for the next kaiju fight to fish for higher damage. transform the spread offense into a focused blitz. go wild.]
These kaiju continue attacking the cities. Has anyone figured out why? The orcas flooded the bay to hunt, the geckos came for Tokyo's electricity, that damn worm lured Vegas citizens as violent incubators. Who knows what the hell the dragons wanted. The rifts aren't regular enough to be a beacon. If we can figure out what draws the kaiju, we should use that to either take the fight to them or lure those monsters away from the cities.
[ooc: general kaiju habit discussion here. maybe they won't be able to prevent the kaiju from attacking the cities in the future, but at least talking about potential strategies to cull damage to city and populace is encouraged.]
I'll keep this short, so listen up. A lot of our powers were screwed up when we came from our home dimensions. But LILITH is able to completely shut down an Outsider's abilities through the oculars for as long as they want. I'm sure you can figure out why they'd do that.
We weren't brought here only to kill kaiju. We were brought here to save this world. But we're not perfect, and we're not able to do it alone. We have to work together to surpass where we are now.
By the way, for whatever damn reason, some Outsiders' oculars are getting interference and texting is messing up right now, so keep it to audio if you can or they might miss your response.
[This is probably the calmest some people have ever seen Bakugo, but this is also very serious and he means it.Hardly a curse word up there. The video is on repeat, so people can replay it and join in the discussion like an extended game of telephone tag.]
[OOC: Please note, there's zero intent for a rebellion or civil war to happen in the overarching community plot, so a coup isn't on the table. But not talking about what happened would be strange. So... Group mingle! Feel free to have your characters read a text-based transcript of the video as an attachment below the posting. 1) â–¶ Should we split up or stay together?
On future missions, we shouldn't split up. Even if we have to face two kaiju in the same battle, we're better together. Last time, we were divided and only one half had military backup. 3) â–¶ Can we use the kaiju's habits against them?

it was such an unflattering nickname for a sweet woman, but fine. he won't argue over it. yor will have to fight her own battle with this one. at least toji's wasn't as bad. however, bakugou's perspective of him is wild, yet somewhat justified. that man had an interesting reputation for a few months; it doesn't help that his ex (choso) is lingering around in everlight as well. ]
Yeah. I asked her and she said it was true. I don't know ... they seem happy.
[ in his defense, he honestly didn't plan this to be a romantic thing, nor did he plan the guest list. it was a very 'go with the flow' vibe. it's just a movie in their humble base, they will share some snacks and treats — you know? very simple. they're allowed to chill after everything that has happened in their last mission and this month has been extra shitty to denji too. he could use a bit of a break.
he's happy bakugou agreed. he's the most important invite to denji. ]
I'll pick a fun action movie. I'll make sure it's clean, too. Don't worry. All you have to do is show up in time and bring us a blanket.

well denji didn't meet her the way katsuki did. serving up a bowl of meatballs with a damn chicken's foot sticking up right out of one like a wick on a bomb! and since meatballs continue to be a theme in that meeting, she ended up coming away with the nickname. might change in the future if he has more interactions with her and finds something more suitable.
bakugou wasn't even aware choso and toji had been dating; all he knew was the two boned to blow off steam or because why not. toji's going steady now? the blonde knows very little about him; yuji and megumi both suggested not to get involved with toji, similar to how denji told katsuki not to interact with makima, warnings he takes seriously.]
Tch, so he grew up, huh?
[not like he's one to talk about being a mature person. but bakugou's agreed to go movie night now. he's noticed denji's month has left the guy feeling pretty crummy. meaning he's been extra clingy this month. but rather than ask aki why that is, the blonde's simply accepted it and been there when denji needed him. doesn't know about the b-day thing either. oh well. at least he got a nice dinner date instead of going to the shitty gala.]
Clean? [does he think bakugou needs a clean g-rated film or something? or is this due to yor and tsurumaru? better not be due to him. he can handle rough movies, hmph.] Tch, I'm bringing two. It's getting cold out here and you're warm.
[so there will be two-person cocoon.]

ah, if his partner was warned not to associate himself with toji by his other friends, denji would've been more respectful with this little gathering. since he had no idea, he didn't assume it would be a problem. out of the invited group, it is unlikely that the older fushiguro will contribute much to the conversation, overshadowed by the loud ones— so, it is unlikely the night will take an odd turn. in denji's perspective, he didn't seem like someone who comes off as intimidating. ]
I didn't know much about him before. I just knew he had a very active life, against my will, and only recently I learned about his connection with Megumi.
[ there is more to it, about his relationship with megumi and the unintended heart-to-heart he had with toji a while back, but he wouldn't spill it out on a public network. he'll share it with bakugou before they join the movie night. as for the b-day thing— well, he needed a few days to clear his head but he will 100% talk to his partner about it. after all, he reached a point where he had to make a decision, figure out his next step, and katsuki might help him figure it out. strangely so, he didn't feel as threatened to let the hero in with this one. is that a good thing, or is he being reckless? ugh, he didn't know, but keeping bakugou in the shadows is no longer an option he wants to consider. there is no shame in asking for help. ]
Clean. No sex scenes. For Yor.
[ yeah, it's not the other crowd. denji didn't want to make a lady uncomfortable. let's keep it clean, a few kisses on the screen are fine but they didn't need an endless scene full of nudity and grunting. that's for private times and not around others. it will be so fucking awkward— for everyone else, not denji. he did not care. ]
Sweet! I'll reserve the best seat for us. We gonna get the corner so we can stretch our legs. Try not to fall asleep in the middle of it! We're watching the Avengers! [ syn's version .... ]

bakugo doesn't usually let other people tell him what to do. that includes warning off others. they should have a chance to prove themselves before the explosive blonde writes them off. but when said people have a history of abuse... toji's more a warning for who the man is, but he's interacted with the hunter before. makima, on the other hand, is someone denji told katsuki to avoid and he does so out of respect for his boyfriend. at the very least, toji's not a loud guy, and bakugou's only loud when people tick him off. which is... extremely easy to, so moot point. should be fine.]
Against your will?
[an ashen brow arcs into his bangs. someone forced the information on denji? or is he being dramatic for no reason... whatever. he knows the man is megumi's father and that's about it. something something fought gojo in the past something. nothing else much to know of him. he isn't someone bakugo talks with. asides from one time at the hot springs. the rest was hearsay from the other sorcerers. as for denji figuring things out... katsuki will always be here for him to talk to regarding those things, no matter how hard or difficult they are. reckless, guarded, hesitant, or eager, the half-devil an come to him.]
Oh.
[wuss. guess it's kind of crass to shove a sex scene in front of people during date night. but is it any better to shove explosions and violence? no one said they had to do that, but bakugou wasn't going to sit through a damn chick flick. maybe a thriller. oy! which movie asides from porn has "endless" sex scenes?! ... yeah please consider caring at some point, denji.]
Huh? You can stretch your legs in the middle as well. [wait, is denji planning on cramming all six+ people on the fucking couch?!] I'm not gonna fall asleep! [dammit, picking a superhero film is playing dirty, chainsaw man...]
no subject
someone did force a piece of information down denji's throat, and he felt like a total snitch for outing choso to a second person, but maybe he deserves it. he chuckled under his breath, lighthearted. ]
Yeeeah. I knew he was the type to sleep around and stuff, before settling with Yor. One of his ex-lovers is Choso. I don't know what he was thinking when he shared a very, uh, intimate picture of him with me. It's not something I asked for ... I guess it's kinda funny now that it's in the past.
[ they can laugh it off now and pretend he hasn't seen megumi's father borderline naked, right? right.
MOVING ON ...
katsuki. almost every recent hollywood movie or a netflix series has unnecessary long sex scenes and nudity that contribute nothing to the plotline. hello? then again, the hero isn't the type to waste time behind the screen and would let denji enjoy his shows while he gets on some of the important cases from work, reading old reports and findings. with the power of headphones, they can enjoy each other's space without disrupting the other. ]
Do you want to sit in the middle? Think about that, Kacchan.
[ squished between the other two pairs, with no room to escape if it gets too rowdy. hell, if bakugou is into it, denji wouldn't mind. and if the sofa can fit them all, why not? they will elaborate on the seating arrangement when they all get together, there are other chairs around but not as cozy. it's not a big deal. he figured his boyfriend would appreciate some space from the others. ]
no subject
finishing threadshaving conversations about anything too serious. jujutsu society and hero society plenty, as well as the occasional talk about feelings, but toji? nope. asides from the brief warning that he wasn't a nice guy. if denji ever wants to fill katsuki in on the blanks about that, it'll go pretty far in at least painting the assassin in a different light in his mind. but he's also never bothered to ask aki about makima either, so generally he trusts his friends to point out people to stay away from and will usually do so unless put in a position he gets to make his own opinions.]Haa?! Why the fuck was he showing pictures of Odango Mess to you?! [not that katsuki thinks his boyfriend's never seen another naked guy in his life, especially not here. but "intimate" picture?! he didn't need that thought in his head. thanks, dammit.] Don't answer that; I don't want to know.
[look, with that all-guy hot spring mingle, they've probably seen a lot of each other borderline naked. it's not a big deal. katsuki's used to it, since the showers and baths in 1-A's dorm were public (granted divided by gender).
maybe he's missed out on those hollywood movies! he had better things to do than spend three hours watching a movie, dammit! even when his classmates managed to drag him to one, it had to be a film he personally vetted or else someone was gonna die on the way out.
none of the mcu films had a long sex scene?this is why he sticks to actions, thrillers, and the like. when there's a lot more boom boom boom rather than bang bang bang.and those headphones have certainly seen katsuki fall asleep with his head in his boyfriend's lap and an arm tucked around his waist while his boyfriend finishes up a movie in bed one or two boring nights.]
We can drag in the other couch!
[they don't have to all try and fit on the same piece of furniture! because denji's right; katsuki doesn't want to get squished in the middle between people. he'd get pissed real quick. having his own space (or at least his and denji's space) is important for film watching.
ultimately he'll take the arm rest.]
