There aren't many spirits in this world. 👻🚫
🧐🧐🧐 Or maybe there are and they're just hard to sense❓

Still, this time of year would usually be when they're most active so it's a little disappointing. 🪦🥀

I know. I've heard telling stories 🗣📖 can invoke the gods and other spirits (~'o')~ So why don't we tell some stories? (◍ ´꒳` ◍)

If we can tell a hundred tales then maybe something surprising will happen. But a hundred would take a long time and the game isn't as much fun if it isn't in person... 👻🏮🏮🏮🏮🏮😔

There are so many of us from other worlds so there should be something interesting to hear. 🔮

I could tell you about Kon. Or the Curse Devil. Or the Future Devil.

(Ah, well.. he's heard about Kon already so...)

What about the future?

I’ll tell you about my contract with it.

I was taken to it after I lost my contract with Kon. I needed a strong Devil to make up for it, so they thought he’d do, especially given its demands. One person who made a contract lost half their lifespan, and another their eyes, their sense of taste and their sense of smell.

You still have your eyes, your taste, and sense of smell.

(But he's heard and knows enough about Aki to ask...)

Your life?

No. It asked to see my future, and when it did it asked to live in my right eye. Because I was going to die in the worst way possible.

It didn't take anything from you?

It just wanted to watch me suffer.

That was it?

(Just wanted to watch him suffer.

Tsurumaru doesn't respond right away. Considering his own relationship with suffering, he isn't quite sure how to respond.)

It told you your future for free so it could watch?

It made the contract with me so that it could see it happen. It wanted to see it all happen in real time, too.

I didn’t care. I agreed because I needed to kill the Gun Devil.
